Adoption
Fees
We know the
cost involved in doing an international adoption is a major part to the adoption
process. New Hope is a nonprofit ministry. Fees going to New Hope are monitored
by guidelines issued for nonprofit ministries.
New Hope has
placed children with families with modest incomes as well as with families with
high incomes.
Here
are some suggestions that some of our families have found helpful:
- U.S. government
offers a tax credit for qualifying families. This credit is for each child
adopted. Check with a tax advisor for exact details.
- Raising money through
churches, family, friends and supporters of your mission has proven to be
a success for some families. As a nonprofit organization, donations can be
given with tax benefit.
- Some families have raised
money with garage sale, fairs, carnivals, etc. This has worked well especially
for bringing home children with medical issues.
- Many families discover
that by altering their expenses and by careful budgeting they can save more.
- Many families use bank
loans, refinancing plans, or savings.
- Fees are altered for
children considered, "harder to place". This can be a correctable
or non-correctable medical issue and may sometimes need immediate attention.
Some older children and some sibling groups may be considered hard to place.
- Families considering
an older child should check the 'Every Child Program'. You can contact our
office for more information.
- Various financial assistance
options are available. We've listed a few on this site to help families learn
about these different programs. See Financial Assistance
Resources.
